Assessors Parcel Numbers

An Assessors Parcel Number (APN) is a unique number assigned to every parcel of land by a county tax assessor. The county government uses APN numbers to identify and keep track of and identify land ownership for property tax purposes.

To find a property's APN, go to the local county assessor's office website and search under the street address if one has been assigned. You will also find the lot size, home type, property tax history, and sales history.

All APN numbers consist of at least three sets of numbers separated by dashes. The first set corresponds to the map book number, the second number is the book's page number, and the third is the parcel number. Condominiums, duplexes and apartments have a fourth set of numbers to denote individual unit numbers.

Every property tax bill and deed contains the property's APN number.
